It happened when I has ten years old. My mother and brother sat in the front of the truck as I, as usual, sat in the back. We were driving to the grocery store. Once we got there, my mother pulled into the first available parking spot she came to. I, thinking we had stopped for good, stood up facing the cab. Suddenly, the truck took off towards a closer parking place and the bed was pulled out beneath me feet. I turned in mid- air to look at where I was going and noticed that my body was half way over the tail gait and I was looking onto the street. The next thing I know I felt a large amount of force pressing me down into the bed off the truck --the opposite direction of the path my body was going. It felt like two hands were pushing me back on to the truck bed. When we stopped, I laid there in shock. The first thing I told my mother was 'something just saved my life.' She thoughtt little of it.
