When I was 19 years old, I went into the Holiday Inn restraunt for lunch. I was on my lunch break, I had only $.55 cents to spend, (which was for my bus fare home)I was hungary and wanted a piece of chocolate pie. I knew if I spent this money that I would have to walk home, meaning this would be a very long walk at 9:00 at night, going through downtown Nashville, over the Shelby Street bridge, passing one bad area of town. I was depressed at the time because of the recent death of my father and a friend. I wasn't happy at home, living with a very controlling, non affectionate mother. The waitress brought my pie, and while I was eating it, I really didn't seemed worried or cared if I got killed. The waitress came back over to the table and picked up my ticket. She said, the man across the room wants to pay your check. She laid down a yellow brochure, with the mans picture on it, about church revivals. He wrote a note on the paper, that said, I am a minister, and ! I want to do this. The man came over and sat down at my table. He said, when I looked across the room and saw you setting there, I heard God speak to me, he told me to pay for your ticket. He said, I have a daughter your age. I had tears in my eyes, I told him that the only money I had was my bus fare, and I almost spent it. I was saved from not having to make that long dangerous walk home. When I left the restraunt, I had a different outlook on life, no more sadness. I am now 44 years old and I still have the yellow brochure. I feel this was an Angle experience. I have love, joy and peace in my life. How it changed my life:I have faith, love, peace, and joy. I know God is watching over me. I thank him for my happy home, life, friends, and family.
