Many years ago about 1970/71 when I was a young child, about 10 years old. My two sisters, and two neighbor kids were in the front yard playing football. I happened to look up in the sky and this object appeared above the tree line about 300 - 500 feet above. It was probably about 300 - 500 yards from us. This object started to approach us then just hoovered for about 10 seconds. I exclaimed look what is it? My neighbor who was/is a devout christian said no that's a plane. Immediately I knew he didn't want to believe what he was seeing. Then it moved rather slow at first towards the tree line almost the same path as I had witnessed this object appear. My sisters looked up as the object started to depart towards the tree line. The appearance of the object looked like a giant dinner plate, silver/aluminum in color. It actually rotated as it moved but there wasn't any lights or anything else. A slight humming noise came from the object as it approached. First it moved real slow and methodical almost like it was going to stop somewhere in this open field before the tree line. Then all of a sudden it went back on the same path as it came, it slowly faded off into the blue sky, and poof it was gone - nothing. My neighbor kept saying oh it was just a plane. But I'm still positive it was an unidentified flying object. My mom came outside to ask what we were howlering about and I told her what had just happened, she didn't know what to say. When we left the yard 5 - 10 minutes later I still had chills going up and down my spine. I like to think of my self as a pretty reliable individual but I'm certain as to what I saw that day. It was unforgettable and I can recall the incident as if it happened yesterday! sudden once it went above the tree line it just disappeared. How it changed my life:It pretty well persuaded me at that point in my life that there probably are other living beings in space or outter world.
