As a troubled childhood as a young girl, my grandmother who was a missionary for close to 30 years, use to tell me 'God will not give us any task that we cannot overcome', I've always thought this phrase to be found in the Bible, but since have been told it's not. Granny passed away at the age of 95 but I was still quite upset as she was like a Mother to me. The evening of the day she passed away, I got out her old autograph book which she had many people sign while she was away at Bible/Missionary College in the 1920s. By nature of the friendships, many entries had quotes from the Bible. I was reading the entries through tears and read the phrase 'God will not give us any task that we cannot overcome' only in more Biblical wording I cannot remember. This really struck me as I had heard it from Granny so often. A short while later, with dry eyes, I looked for the entry again, interested in the Biblical wording.... it's not there..... I had my husband look for it, it's not there.... How it changed my life:I've always been intrigued by the 'paranormal / supernatural' (better word?) but never thought it would happen to me....
