This was ten years ago. After a bad breakup with my 1st husband at 18yrs old, I packed my belongings and my puppy into my car and began my two day journey from Fort Hood Texas to Philadelphia Pa. It was late at night and I was the only car on the road. It was a two lane highway and you had to stay in your lane. If you swerved to the right you would drive over a cliff if you swerved to the left you would you would either hit an oncoming car or the mountain. (if it were not for my headlights I couldn't see my hands in front of my face) I was terrified but that was the road home according to my map. I must have fallen asleep for an instance while driving on this road, when my little dog began to bark. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! there was an old man riding a dirty old blue bike directly in front of my car! He appeared to be a white man with with a filthy old blue and white plaid shirt and a fishing pole stuck into the back of the bike. I immediately swerved! to the left and luckily there were no oncoming cars. I looked into my rearview mirror to see if I had hit him but, there was noone there, just the darkness. I didn't hit the mountain because when I had dozed off my car had drifted dangerously close to the right edge of the road and I know in my heart that If this man hadn't have appeared and 'Bagels' hadn't barked we would have crashed over the cliff. About ten miles down the road I had the chance to pull over and really think about what happened. Somehow I think that the stranger in the road was some sort of spirit that was sent to save my life that night. I don't know why, I only know that when I looked for him there was no sign of him...And why would an old man be out riding his bike in the middle of a pitch black highway? It took me 5 years to tell my family about my guardian angel that night and to this day they say that I was probably dreamed the whole thing....but me and 'Bagels' know better! This road was either! in Texas or Louisianna I got the feeling that this man was on his way back from fishing when he was struck and killed by a car. If anyone has any info please respond. There is another encounter that I had with unknown forces which also included my dog, I will tell that one later. How it changed my life:It strengthed my belief in GOD, It strengthed my belief in life after death. Even though the religion I practice does not believe in life after death I can't discredit things that i've seen, heard and experienced all through my life.
