I was asleep when something woke me. I opened my eyes and there beside the bed stood a white lady. Being a child I was very frightened and did what I had heard to do and pinched myself to see if I was awake. That pinch hurt real bad and no doubt I was awake. I kept looking at her and could feel the fear in me like a hot cold flush all over my body. As I watched her she began to get smaller and further away from me like she was traveling back away from me. The further she got the smaller she became. It wasn't long before she was just a speck and finally disappeared. I was so scared I woke everyone, but, my mom said I was just dreaming. I have never forgotten that visit and to this day I know I wasn't dreaming. How it changed my life: I don't really know. I only know I have had a life filled with a lot of losses. Perhaps she was trying to comfort me for what was to come.
