I had made it throught seminary quite speedily and was still single. The congregation that I pastored was a group of the kindest people I have ever known. They were sincere Christians. I too was very committed to being a moral and spiritual example as their pastor. Many of the older women in the church treated me like their son. They constantly cooked for me, offered to sew for me, and do my laundry. These women were always on the look out for a wife for me. This small town did not offer me many choices when it came to women. One day sister Billy Jean called me at home and wanted to introduce me to her niece who came down from Jackson MS. She assurred me that her niece Pam was a devout christian girl and it would be worth my while. I was hesistant to go but I did not want to offend sister Billy Jean. To my surprise Pam was completely gorgeous and sweet. Being a man I noticed many things I liked about Pam's body. Pam and I were allowed to speak alone and I was able to ask her out to dinner. We agreed the next evening would be fine. She was down for a couple of weeks and we enjoyed each others company quite a bit. The night before she was to go back was when the strangest thing happened. Pam and I had been out on a date that night and after dinner we drove to another rural town about 30 miles west of the Church. She had a place to show me it was a lake in the middle of a pasture in the middle of nowhere. I had an old sleeping bag that I left in my car from a boys camping trip that I went on a week before. We sat out under the moon on it and talked. The stars were out and there was a cool soft wind blowing across the lake. Things were getting really romantic. Against my better judgement and Pam and I had begun kissing. We began to lay and hold one another on the sleeping bag. Squeezing led to petting and then clothes started coming off. Before I knew it Pam lay below me completely naked. Her beautiful large breasts, her soft long dark hair, those revealed hips and everthing else were compelling me. All I had to do was remove my pants. I wrecklessly unbuckled my belt, unbuttoned my pants and as I grabbed my zipper, I experienced a vision that was truly from God. Just above the bank where we lay stood my whole congregation. There stood every man woman and child especially sister Billy Jean who had trusted me with her niece. It was as if they were really there. Soon the vision disappeared. I put on my clothes and explained to Pam what had happened. I sincerely apologized and drove Pam back to her aunt's house. Pam and I kept this a secret as we would be both deeply embarrassed if her family were to find out. We remained friends for many years after. How it changed my life: Help me to remember that God was always watching me and me being a Pastor should practice what I preach.
