~~~My Duplex Flooded~~~

Hello USM. I have had an awful week so far, and I just wanted to have a quick rant, so don't mind me......

 On Monday, I had to go pay my rent. It had been snowing all weekend, followed by some wonderful freezing rain and temperatures dropping below zero. Needless to say, the roads were crazy. Anyways, I had to drive back accross town to drop something off at my sister's house. On the way back from the bank, I had missed the turn that I needed to take because of the frozen roads, so I had to go the long busy way(this was in the middle of rush hour I might add). Well I took the long way, but there was this big hill that I had to go up to make it on the next street over to get to my sisters. Well traffic had stopped because the light changed, which meant that I had to stop- too. Needless to say, my car was there for 20 minutes,spinning tires and all- with me behind the wheel freaking out because it was the middle of rush hour, and there was no one that had stopped to help me. I had my kids in the car with me and it was making matters worse. My kids were crying too. Eventually there was a break in traffic and I was able to make it over to the next lane and gained enough momentum to go all the way up the hill. It was scary, people were flying by me, I thought that I was done for...To make matters worse, The radio station that I listen too broadcasted that my car was stuck there and I was blocking traffic:(, it is informative to know when you are trying to get somewhere that there is an accident or something blocking the road, but embarrasing when it is YOU blocking traffic! Good Ole' Alaskan Weather!!!!!~~

So to my real rant..... Also on monday, about 11 at night, I had just got done cleaning one of my bathrooms(I have 2) when my oldest daughter came in and told me that it was "raining" in my bedroom! I went in there to check it out, and sure enough, it WAS pouring water from the threshold of my other bathroom that is connected to my bedroom. Water was also coming from the ceiling light fixture.I totally freaked out and called my husband, then called my landlord. I ran up stairs( I live in a duplex) and rang the doorbell and banged on the door to my upstairs neighbor, with no answer. My landlord arrived and assesed the waterfall, then went up stairs and also almost beat the door down. Finally, my neighbor answerd. HE HAD FALLEN ASLEEP WHILE RUNNING A BATH!!!! OMG. My landlord called her insurance company, and yesterday morning, they had guys out to tear out the carpet and all of the walls in my bedroom and bathroom. They had to dry out the structure, so there were about 5 high powered fans running in my bedroom and bathroom all night.It was a long night. We were able to get all of our stuff out of our bedroom and bathroom, which included taking my sons crib apart and getting our huge bed out of our room. Luckily, none of our belongings were damaged. I will be getting renters insurance this week......

So USM, everything is going has to be replaced, which will be nice because it needed it anyways, but my bedroom is in my living room, and the demo guys said that it could take up until right before Christmas to get it fully repaired. That means no Christmas tree, and My hubby, my son and I will be sleeping in my living room on the couch for the next month..FUN Stuff!

I just had to get it out, I am so frustrated, but trying to keep my cool...I had a couple of drinks last night, I totally needed them:)~~ I hope you all have a great week, and happy holidays from my family to yours~~:)
