That has never happened to me before. I would have said I don't want your junk mail and it doesn't matter what my phone number is I just want to give so and so a haircut. I would have been serious then she dare ask again I'd turn around and walk out. ![]() |

Yeah, that is pretty strange they wanted your address. I was asked that once at a salon, I know I gave them a funny look, but they told me about a coupon they were going to send me with a special or something like that on it. Still weird though. Lol. ![]() |

Well, it depends on the Salon but, I go to one that they ask for that information so, they can send you coupons and things in the mail I just politely decline to give my information. Same with some grocery stores and things like that they want your phone number or zip code so, that they can see how a store is under performing/ over performing/just right. Sometimes, this might be because; the store is being evaluated for possibly having to close it's doors or to increase or decrease hours ![]() |

well at my salon when they went over to computers my hair girl already knew my info and just entered it! what i hate is when i walk into a store and have CASH in my hand they need my zip code or they ask for my phone number or address. i can understand when paying by check that they need all the info they can get on you. but when i am paying cash why do they need to know where i live and my phone? and you should see some of the funny looks i get when i tell them i don't have a phone. yes...it's a lie but i don't want them calling me! and sometimes i tell them i am paying cash and they look at me like i'm nuts!! they will stand there and wait for my address. i tell them to either mark it as a cash sale or they can keep it. ![]() |

My hair is almost down to my knees .. does it look like I go to a salon ??? .. LOL At stores where I am paying cash, and they ask for zip codes, address, phone numbers and such .. I just say 'No Thank You'. I always get a blank stare from the cashier, like no one ever dares not give everything asked of them. One cashier I actually had to say 'No' to again, cuz he just stared at me like he was on pause .. permanently .. LOL ![]() |

If they wanted to send me coupons...why not just give em to me right there and then.? Besides if that is what they wanted all this info for...she could have asked me....Would you like any coupons or specials sent via home address?...which I would have said no. I don`t think I wanna go back there. Zip codes?...ok....home addy no...unless I knew the lady for a long time. Why be all Secret Agent on me? LOL!!!! ![]() |

I've been on the other side of the desk. I used to manage a Great Clips and it was required of all the stylists to ask for everyone's phone number and then address if there wasn't one already in the computer. Many shopping stores will ask you for your phone number or zip code now. The main reason we asked was so we could find out where the customers were coming from. It became hard to get some of my stylists to even ask for the information after a while...they were so tired of being yelled at. I can understand why someone wouldn't want to give out their personal information. I myself usually don't. However, I will never fully understand why anyone would get so upset over something so small. You either give the information or you say politely you'd prefer not to. It really isn't that big of a deal. ![]() |
