Please spread this message with all you know. This little guy has been on a tough road. I think of the little guys I recently babysat and how they are as young as he is. I can't imagine them and their parents going through this kind of trial.
Have a blessed day - Paula

Two year old Luke Sulley, who lives in Iowa, was born with a congenital heart defect. Just before Thanksgiving, Luke received a heart transplant in St. Louis. Luke has now developed acute heart rejection and needs our faith and prayers in his behalf. Our local Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has asked that the area members participate in a area-wide fast for Luke and his family this Sunday, December 7, 2008. We would appreciate it if you would join us.

Minutes after I posted the above, I received the following... Today has been a very busy and eventful day. Luke was transferred to the CICU so they could get the plasma pheresis cath in to start treatments. They decided to do it in the room rather than go to the OR. When they gave the medicine to put him out, he coded. His heart didn't actually stop but they did do CPR. He is very sick but they feel with plasma pheresis that this rejection can be reversed and he can get better. He almost had to go on echmo and they keep it in his room just in case. This is not good but we still have hope.
Through the power of priesthood blessings that Luke has received we have hope of a brighter day that Luke will run and not be weary, walk and not faint. We know that God is mindful of us and that we have been sustained during this difficult time. No matter what happens we truly know that families can be together forever, death is not the end.
