My sisters unsolved death   Author: 860  Category:(Crimes) Created:(10/9/1999 1:54:00 PM) This post has been Viewed (1258 times) I was about four years old and also had an older brother. My younger sister from what I remember was beautiful and of course so dependant. As our parents were away alot with there business, We had a nanny to look after us. Our lives at that stage were just the norm and I shared a bedroom with my sister. My parents came home for the off season and this was before They knew they knew there business was going to be a huge sucess. I was lying in my bed but it was'nt that early in the morning. We had a pool that dad built, he was a handy man and could build anything. Of course there was a fence around the pool and the two gates were locked. My mother pulled the curtains open in the bedroom and as I was getting up. Mum screamed and as I looked out the window I saw my sister face down in the pool. Dad came running in as mum was running out and all she could say was "OH GOD NO". They could not get in the gate as it was locked. Mum finally got in and dived into the pool and dragged my sister out. She brought her inside and called the ambulance and dad started giving mouth to mouth. My uncle was there too and he took me into the games room. It seemed like forever and although I was young I remember it all too well. It was too late and when uncle told me maria was gone I felt numb and didn't believe him. Mum couldn't have anymore kids and as the years went on she tried desperately to adopt but then realised after a few years that she couldn't replace her. I was older when I found that out and realise then that mum couldn't let it go. It scared me to think of all the pain her and dad went through without me knowing. We never knew how it happened and the case was closed. I miss her even now and wonder what it would have been like had she still been alive. Sometimes I think about her when I look at my daughter and I cry. Mum and dad don't talk about it at all but I see the pain they still hold when certain things happen to my children or when they are swimming. How it changed my life: You realise how easy it can happen and when I look at my three children now and when times get difficult I remember that although kids can be trying, they can just as easily be be taken away from us. Its a hard thought, but its so true. Children, what a special gift to have.
