In December of 1960 in Baltimore, Maryland, my 14 year-old brother lay dying in my grandmother's house. My aunt & I were sent to the drug store to get a morphine prescription filled to ease his final days in his bout with melanoma. It was snowing and there was about 12 inches of snow on the ground which kept us from being able to get out of the parking space. All of a sudden, a handsome man appeared, dressed in an immaculate white shirt and black overcoat. I was outside of the car pushing. He calmly told me to get in the car and he would push us out onto the road. He used only one hand to push us out. I got out of the car to thank him and noticed THERE WERE NO FOOTPRINTS ANYWHERE and he had disappeared. I told my aunt, who matter-of-factly told me that she had seen him before-that he was her guardian angel. 30 years before, she said the same man saved her life in a boating accident. She had quite a time getting me in the car so we could get to the drugstore before it closed. I couldn't believe what I had just seen. I was 16 at that time. It really freaked me out! My aunt seemed to take the whole incident in stride. I felt blessed to have an experience that would cement my faith and fortify me for things to come and wish everyone could have that reassurance. How it changed my life:I try to live every day to the best of my ability and am grateful that I had the experience
