This left my mother and I. She had to sell our house and move to another state so we could move in with her parents. My grandparents were very kind people and lived on a big farm in a large victorian style house. I like this situation but had trouble making friends at school. This was a rural town and I was from the city. I had so much trouble fitting in. Everyday after school the kids would go to a local diner for a snack. Being an outgoing person I tried to tag along but soon grew tired of the rejection. I was so embarrassed that I never said a word to my grandfather about my social problems. When he picked me up outside the diner I pretended that I had been in there. One weekend in the fall things were turned around. It was the weekend of the county fair, and when my granpa asked me if I'd like to go, I pretended not to be scared of more rejection. We went together and my grandfather got to playing horshoes with some of his old friends. He saw that I was bored and gave me some money to go ride some rides. It was there I met my mystery friend. Two of the guys from my school were wanting to fight with me. This mystery friend walked up and discouraged my two enemies. This guy was super nice and he began to start a conversation with all four of us. He was really cool, fun, and was someone everybody liked. He began to bridge the gap between the school kids and I. We had a good time that day and I was able to make a few friends. Sunday he came to church and sat with my mother and I. He came over to grandmas for lunch, and we went back to the fair. He was vague about where he was from or why he was here. All he would say that his name was Josh and he was "just visiting." Sunday proved to be a miraculous day for my social life. After that day I fit in. As for Josh, I never saw him again. After our goodbyes on Sunday night I tried to look him up. I even went to the Pastor to see if he filled out a visitor card. The pastor said that he did not have one, but noticed something extremely special about the young man. The Pasor said it was almost like he was glowing while he preached. How it changed my life: It makes me wonder if was and Angel or Not. Even if he was not, He was certainly sent from God. I still live here today and have many friends.
