While driving at dusk on 9G in Dutchess County, just south of the Kingston Rhinecliff bridge (early to mid 80's)we saw an unusual 'V' formation of 5-6 lights traveling low and very slowly across the sky. I had heard about earlier UFO sightings and pulled over to take a better look. Just as we had heard, the 'UFO' often seemed to stand still in the air, turn as 'one', and have one of the lights drop down from the group and then rejoin the group. All the while there was absolutely no sound coming from the 'UFO'. The course of the 'UFO' brought them close enough to our vehicle for us to make out individual stunt planes not much larger than a compact automobile. Once they were up wind of us, the sounds of thier engines was easily heard. They often had thier marking lights (or whatever they're called)off or switched them on and off all at once and, at other times, seperately. The UFO matching this description seen slowly hovering over the Hudson Valley is a Hoax. How it changed my life:It didn't.
