In 1989 a young woman was struck by an automobile on Interstate 20 just outside of Sweetwater, Texas. The woman, had no identification. A sketch artist made a sketch of the woman, and it was circulated printed in several area newspapers. A number of days passed and after receiving no positive ID on the woman, she was buried in a pauper's grave in the Sweetwater Cemetery. She had dark hair, dark eyes, and I believe was of either of Mexican or Native American descent. The best I can remember, she was between 5'4' and 5'7', and she had not had any children. Employees of the Sweetwater Reporter collected enough money to buy the woman a headstone. When the marker arrived, the name 'Jane Doe' had been misspelled 'Jayne Doe.'
